Jan 15 2007 - Happy New Year
Happy New Year to everyone!
I finally got a moment to put my thoughts down.
The holidays are over. Woo Hoo! (All parents are cheering)
The kids made out like crazy with the toys as usual.
The business of rotate the toys is in full swing at our house...
The old toys are getting Freecycled out, and the new toys are
where they need to be in the house.
New Years eve everyone stayed up to watch the ball drop in Times Square.
Goodbye 2006.... Stephanie and I had tears of joy for the upcoming year
and tears of saddness for everything that had happened.
We went out to visit Emmie-Rose this weekend. Our 6 Year old took these
pictures with the new camera we got for Christmas.
I finally switched web counters for the site. Jellycounter was hacked and
taken down a while ago. It had been around for years. It was sad to see
that site go. Hooked up with sitemeter so will see how this works out.
Uncle Steve and I had a nice long chat last week.
He and his office are doing well.
Tonight was just a bunch of random thoughts plunked down into the blog.
Sorry for any gooder Engligh. lol
Thank you so much for everyone stopping by to see how things are going!
All our love,
Chris & Stephanie

THANKS TO ALL FOR THE GOOD WISHES FOR THE NEW YEAR!!! OUR CHRISTMAS WAS WONDERFUL AND THE HOLIDAY PASSED WITH A FEELING OF SADNESS BUT PEACE AND LOVE. I AM SO GRATEFUL TO EVERYONE WHO HAS WRITTEN AND ENCOURAGED CHRIS, STEPHANIE AND THE FAMILY. NOT A DAY GOES BY THAT OUR SWEET EMMIE-ROSE IS IN OUR THOUGHTS AND IN OUR CONVERSATION. I WAS TRULY SAD ONLY ONCE WHEN I REALIZED ALL I COULD GIVE MY EMMIE-ROSE FOR CHRISTMAS WAS SOME CERAMIC ANGELS WITH FIBEROPTIC LIGHTING FOR THE GRAVESIDE. BUT WE ARE SOOOOO GRATEFUL FOR OUR FAMILY AND THE SWEETNESS THE HOIDAY BROUGHT. WE HAVE LEARNED TO LOVE AND APPRECIATE THE SMALL THINGS EVEN MORE THAN EVER. CONTINUE TO KEEP US IN YOUR PRAYES AND THOUGHTS AS WE KEEP YOU AND YOURS DAILY. PLEASE CONTINUE TO LET US KNOW HOW YOU ARE DOING. I WOULD MISS THIS INTERACTION SO MUCH.
AS FOR ANONYMOUS WHO WANTS SO MUCH TO COMMENT ON OUR BLOG, PLEASE TRY TO REMEMBER THAT LOVE AND COMPASSION ARE GREATER THAN YOUR MEANESS AND SCEPTICISM. YOU HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO READ AND COMMENT ON ANYTHING YIOU SEE ON THE INTERNET BUT WHY GIVE SUCH NEGATIVE HURTFUL COMMENTS TO PEOPLE WHO ALREADY HURTING. JUST SOME INFO TO SET YOU STRAIGHT.
1. EMMIE-ROSE WAS BORN JULY , 15,2006 AT 23 WEEKS AND 5 DAYS.
2. SHE WAS A PERFECTLY FORMED EAUTIFUL BABY GIRL WEIGHING ONLY 1.5 LBS AND INCHES LING.
3. SHE WAS FULLY DEVELOPED, A COMPLETE BRAIN, BODY AND INTESTINE.
4. SHE NEVER HAD ANYTHING BUR WONDERFUL CARE AT SJMH.
5. EMMIE-ROSE WAS TRANSFERRED TO U O M HOSPITAL AND HER REAL TROUBLES BEGAN
A. E-COLI IN HER BREATHINNG TUBE
B. AIR PUSH ED INTO STOMACH BECAUSE THE TUBE WAS TOO FAR DOWN
C. A STOMACH INFECTION WHICH EVENTUALLY LED TO HER DEATH.
I SAW MY DAUGHTER STAND BY EMMIE-ROSE'S BED AND BEG FOR THE DOCTORS TO OPERATE AND DO SOMETHING FOR OUR BABY BUT SHE WAS TOLD TO WAIT.WE WAITED AND WHEN THE OPERATION OCCURRED, THEY JUST SAID NO HOPE. BUT EMMIE-ROSE WAS NOT READY TO LEAVE LIFE AND GOD WAS NOT READY TO TAKE HER. WHAT DIFFERENCE WOULD IT HAVE MADE TO GIVE OUR BABY HER TPN AND BLOOD PRODUCTS? OUR BABY WAS A MIRACLE TO LIVE AS LONG AS SHE DID WITHOUT ANY HELP FORM THE U OF M HOSPITAL. SHE WAS AWAKE AND LOOKING AT HER MOM AND DAD THE DAY SHE DIED. THIS WAS NOT SOME COMATOSE, LETHARGIC BABY. EMMIE-ROSE RESPONDED TO US ALWAYS , TO OUR VOICES AND ANY MOVEMENT WE MADE. SHE WAS AN ANGEL ON EARTH, GREATLY LOVED BY HER FAMILY. SHE WAS ALSO A HERO AND EXAMPLE TO EVERYONE SHE TOUCHED. I SAID ALL THIS TO TELL YOU:
BACK OFF IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT. YOUR IGNORANCE AND UNCOMPASSIONATE HEART IS SHOWING!!!!!!! KEEP YOUR SNIDE COMMENTS TO YOURSELF--MY DAUGHTER AND SON -IN-LAW HAVE BEEN THROUGH ENOUGH WITHOUT YOUR UNKIND REMARKS AND MEAN THOUGHTS. IF YOU WANT TO RESPOND TO ME, FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME THROUGH THE BLOG. I WOULD BE WILLING TO TALK TO YOU BUT I THINK IT WOULD BE BETTER IF YOU JUST STAY OFF THE BLOG. WE ARE NOT HURTING YOU AND YOU SHOULDN'T TRY TO HURT US.
TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO READ THIS BLOG, I AM SORRY TO HAVE TO SAY THESE THINGS BUT I NEED TO PROTECT MY FAMILY. ALL BEST WISHES TO EVERYONE FOR A HAPPY, HEALTHY NEW YEAR FOR YOU AND YOURS. TO MUNKEESMAMA- HANG IN THERE!! LIFE IS PRECIOUS AND LOVE IS EVERYTHING.

Doctors Keep Baby Born At 22 Weeks In Hospital
Baby Born After At Under 10 Ounces
POSTED: 1:10 pm EST February 20, 2007
MIAMI -- The world's smallest premature baby will remain in the hospital a few more days as a precaution, hospital officials said Tuesday.
Barbara Moore, spokeswoman for Baptist Children's Hospital, said she did not have further details on why the doctors changed their mind about sending Amillia Sonja Taylor home Tuesday.
Doctors said Amillia is the first baby known to survive after a gestation period of fewer than 23 weeks. She was just 9½ inches long and weighed less than 10 ounces when she was born Oct. 24.
She was delivered after just under 22 weeks of pregnancy; full-term births come after 37 to 40 weeks.
The baby has suffered respiratory and digestive problems, as well as a mild brain hemorrhage, but doctors believe the health concerns will not have major long-term effects.
"Her prognosis is excellent," said Dr. Paul Fassbach, who has cared for Amillia since her second day.
Amillia was conceived in vitro and has been in an incubator since birth. She has received oxygen and will continue to get a small amount even after she goes home.
She is the first child for Eddie and Sonja Taylor of Homestead. She was delivered by Caesarean section and now weighs about 4½ pounds and is just over 15½ inches long.
Previously doctors stated she was about 25 inches long.

cp, bleeding in the brain, syndromes, RAD, dev. delay, gt, trach, pain. humans were playing God's work the day they delivered a 21, 22, 23 and 24 weekers....
and i can write whatever you want. think about the 'mean' and uncompassionate things you say about the slave healthcare workers.

I am amazed at the ignorance that a certain "anonymous" keeps showing in the continued venemous comments in your blog...probably just cant deal with the positively brave and courageous way you have conducted yourselves throughout this ordeal. I find it amazing that you have not deleted more of those comments. On the other hand you show the rest of us who stop by your blog just how open and caring you really have been about your family's life this past year.
I have included "anonymous" in my prayers and commend him or her to my own twin angels who were born 22 years ago...surviving 1mo and 2years 1 mo and who taught me more about compassion and the true meaning of life and the will to live than any other persons I have encountered since. Dont judge until you've walked in the shoes.
God bless you and yours.
