I was able to see the video. I only recently heard about your story, but as the parent of a former 31 weeker, I understand your fight. I am in disbelief about all of this. You have a beautiful baby girl who obviously wants to live!! I am so sorry that you have had to go through all of this to get what every person deserves. I will continue to pray for Emmie-Rose and your family as well as for a positive outcome to this fight, and soon!!!

I am so sick to my stomach as I watched this news clip. WHY would these people not give this little girl a chance. You say that they are baffled as to why she is still here...maybe there is a reason for that and they won't even try to understand why. This is just awful. I am praying for you and and that little girl. You show them that she is meant to live.

I am the mom of a 28 weeker born at 1 lb 8 oz. Though he didn't experience NEC, I can't imagine having the right to make the decision to continue to try to fight for his life or not taken out of my hands. I really do not believe my son's NICU would have done this. Your family is in my prayers as this preemie experience is a draining one at the best of times.

My son is now a happy, healthy 1 year old who is over 21 pounds. These kids are amazing fighters.

    Good luck.

My heart is so saddened as I read the blog. What a special little miracle you have. How truly sad that UofM doesn't see her the same. My oldest was born in UofM 8 years ago. I have another birth that could take place there near January and I am seriously reconsidering that option. Please know that our prayers are with you and your family. We are praying that God will change the hearts of the doctors and that at least ONE will step forward as an advocate for Emmie-Rose. It only takes ONE!!! Praying that tomorrow at court you are blessed by a truly Godly judge who sees that this is about a life and rule in favor of sweet Emmie. Her eyes are so vibrant in the pictures and she's working so hard against the negativity. Looking forward to hearing amazing news after court tomorrow!!

I pray that she lives a long and full life and defies the odds and continues to "BAFFLE" everyone. For God's thoughts are not our thoughts. Praying~~~

Im sorry all this is happening to you and your family. However one comment in the video the nurses and docs think they can play god? because of the wonderfull NICU's in the world they are able to give 23 weekers a chance...Im assuming It was ok for them to "play god" at the begging right?

I can't believe the hospital staff is being so cruel.I'll be praying for you beautiful little girl. That hospital staff should be ashamed of themselves!!

I pray for your family daily, but also for the doc/staff of the hospital that Emmie Rose is in... those poor souls just do not realize that God is speaking to them through Emmie Rose and them being "doctors" just aren't listening to God wishes.

Fight Emmie Rose, we all know you can. May God grant your "team" the strength to fight for you!!!

I am so sorry you and your family have to go through. It saddens me to know that a hospital, a place employed by those meant to save lives, is treating this chile, a LIFE, this way. They should be ashamed of themselves. As for Emmie Rose, she is a fighter & GOD is definitely watching over her. I will be praying for you and your family. GOD BLESS!!!

To the dear parents of Emmie Rose,
Just to let you know that the U caused the death of my great-neice. They were taken to court and the truth came out. My family is praying for all you. I truly believe in my heart that God creates miracles everyday and I believe she is the miracle and the Uof M is trying to cover up the truth as to their wrong doing. I am a good friend of Amie's and she keeps me updated. I have put her in the Hands of Our Lord. Come on Emmie show the word your miracle. You are so beautiful and I am so behind your parents. You have so many praying for you. Emmie I am so behind your parents and they are doing the RIGHT THING!!! There is no excuse that her food was stopped. I pray the Uof M is seen for what they really are. Go Chris and Stephanie go for it!! Show the world the truth and save other children.
May God Be With All Of You'

I have been following this story for about a week now, and it breaks my heart that those doctors (if you can even call them that) are still refusing this obviously strong angel the right to EAT. My prayers are will all of you! I emailed as many newscasts as I could find, and I hope others are doing the same. There is an urgency here to get something done! I pray that you win tomorrow guys!! Keep fighting Emmie-Rose!!! God bless you--

First let me say my heart goes out to you. I am the mother of a 1lb 9oz baby girl and I am in such shock and can not believe what I have read and heard about. I am not sure what the extent of the intestinal issue is but I know they saved my child with bowel issues as well (not NEC but that can be taken care of as well). The amazing Doctors and Nurses at St. Peters Hospital in Albany NY have the most compassion and caring I have ever seen. If you wouldd like more information please please email me at tamara_martell@hotmail.com. I am sickened and my heart goes out to you and your tiny bundle. Tami

This is what I read today...
and it may give some insight... as well as some warning to the rest of us

"If you can, stay out of the hospital during the summer -- especially July. That's the month when medical students become interns, interns become residents, and residents become fellows and full-fledged doctors. In other words, a good portion of the staff at any given teaching hospital are new on the job.

Summer hospital horror stories aren't just medical lore: The adjusted mortality rate rises 4% in July and August for the average major teaching hospital, according to the National Bureau of Economic Research. That means eight to 14 more deaths occur at major teaching hospitals than would normally without the turnover"

    Hi!

I read your blog and I saw the story clip. There is an awesome hospital in Minneapolis, MN that deals with cases just like Emmie's. My son was there last christmas. It's the Children's Hospitals and Clinics in Minneapolis. You should try to see if they can get her there. the site is www.childrenshc.org.

You are in my prayers and I know my little angel is watching over her.
